|
From the Publisher
Welcome to the Rotten School. We are proud of our school, founded 100 years ago by I. B. Rotten. If you follow the rules, we know your time here will be happy. RULE NUMBER ONE: Watch out for Bernie Bridges. Bernie is trouble! That is my important message. Enjoy your stay. I know that after a short while, you will all truly deserve the name Rotten Students.
Spotlight is a division of ABDO Publishing Group. Grades 2-5. Each Spotlight edition is printed on high-quality paper. We use the original publisher's files to adjust the book's layout so no artwork or text is near the gutter for our reinforced library bindings specifically printed for the library market.

About the Author
R.L. Stine graduated from Rotten School at the top of his class. He had a solid D+ average. His favorite classes at school were Scratching Body Parts and Making Armpit Noises. In sixth grade, R.L. won the school Athletic Award for his performance in the Wedgie Championships. After graduation, R.L. became well known for writing scary book series such as The Nightmare Room, Fear Street, Goosebumps, and Mostly Ghostly, and a short story collection called Beware! Today, R.L. lives in a cage in New York City, where he is busy writing stories about his school days. Says he: "I wish everyone could be a Rotten Student!"

My kids love anything R.L. Stine writes. The books are interesting, fun and easy for 3rd graders to read. They enjoy discussing them with and sharing the books in their circle of friends.

Fourth-grader Bernie Bridges narrates #9 of the Rotten School series. "I love being at Rotten School. I get to live at school in a dorm with all my friends--and NO PARENTS!" You won't have to do much promoting to get this series of books in the hands of your (especially boy) students. The print is large and enticing, the chapters are short and filled with shenanigans, plus the eyeball-rolling gross humor that keeps kids hooked. Absolutely essential are the B&W drawings of Trip Park, which interpret the text to the nth degree. This series appeals to reluctant and avid readers alike. Let your students chow down on perfect English, grammar, punctuation and writing style without torture. For a change they'll be reading (and getting what's good for them) for fun.

Another great book and series by RL Stine. All the kids in our neighborhood love all his Rotten School books.
