I've never been a huge fan of Kara. I missed Paula when Kara joined and actually stopped watching Idol. Then, I heard Kara on the radio talking about the book and I thought I'd give it a chance. But, even after getting the book, I had a hard time starting it.

When I finally did start reading, I did not want it to end. The book is awesome- thoroughly enjoyable and inspirational. In an industry where you always hear about bad people, it was great to read about a truly good person (yes, she won me over) who has made it to the top on her own through hard work and perseverance.

I bought this as a gift for my 17 year old daughter, who is very interested in music (and sings quite well herself!). Not only did she read the whole thing in a matter of days (when's the last time she did that?!), she kept telling me how much she LOVED the book and how inspired it made her feel. Honestly, I haven't heard her say this many positive things about a book in years.

So since she wouldn't stop talking about what an inspiration it was for her, I eventually picked it up and started reading it. Well wouldn't you know, it was an EXCELLENT read!! I'm a 48 year old father of two and I found it not only to be a well-written story but very meaningful ... it really delivers the messages you'd want to instill in your children, so I'm thrilled to have my daughter be such a huge fan of this book. Not only that, but it's well-written, delivered with a fun tone, but at the same time is very heartfelt and personal.

I highly recommend everyone picks up this book. It made a great gift for my daughter and heck, I loved it too. It imparts great messages no matter what age you are, so do what I did - give it as a gift and then take it back, and read it for yourself!

This is a must read: Kara tells an amazing life story of tragedy and triumph. It is truly remarkable how much she has accomplished via unyielding devotion to her dreams. She is obviously extremely talented, but what is even more striking is her tireless work ethic and commitment.

This book is an engagingly-written, "page turner" that is sure to captivate. Her encounters with music's biggest stars are wildly entertaining and fun to read. What is most amazing, however, is how down-to-earth and hard working she has remained in spite of such stardom. She is a paragon for overcoming obstacles and seizing the day.

This book really spoke to me, and I know that it will do the same for countless others.
